Radio City Entertainment (RCE), the entertainment arm of Cablevision System Corp., is a worldwide entertainment company recognized for its signature combination of event production and entertainment marketing.  In addition to the nearly 700 entertainment concerts and events that take place each year at Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, The Theater at Madison Square Garden and the Expo Center at MSG, Radio City Entertainment develops events and attractions and produces shows nationally and internationally.  Radio City Entertainment's live events include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, as well as six productions of The Christmas Spectacular outside of New York.

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular


The most “spectacular” event and one loved by generations upon generations is the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the world-famous Radio City Rockettes.  Debuted in 1933, it was originally performed as a holiday “gift” to the audience before movie screenings.  The Christmas Spectacular began its current format of a full 90-minute live stage production in 1979 and continues to break box office records.   During its 9-week run at the Music Hall, the show draws more than one million people and since expanding outside New York 10 years ago, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has played in more than 17 cities around the country, making it America’s #1 live show.  This year the Christmas Spectacular debuts in Boston, Buffalo, Columbus, Denver, and St. Louis, and returns to Detroit for its eighth season. 

Concerts & Attractions

Radio City Entertainment presents many of today's top performing artists at the famed Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Past performers include Madonna, Elton John, Prince, Dave Matthews Band, Bette Midler, Jessica Simpson, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eric Clapton, and many more. Radio City Entertainment has also presented concerts in other cities and venues, among them Shea Stadium, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Beacon Theater, Town Hall, The Meadowlands and Constitutional Hall in Washington, D.C.

Radio City Entertainment is a leader in family entertainment and theatrical spectaculars.  From Dora the Explorer Live!, Sesame Street Live, Blue’s Clues Live!, Barney’s Colorful World, and Rugrats to Pokemon, Power Rangers and Spiderman Live!, many children have their first theatrical experience at a RCE produced show.  

World Class Events and Award Shows

From the Tony Awards, Grammy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, ESPY Awards and Daytime Emmy Awards, to “Night of 100 Stars,” the RCE/TNT “Tribute to Brian Wilson,” VH-1 Divas and the premiere of HBO’s “The Sopranos,” Radio City Music Hall is known as the top venue in New York live entertainment spectaculars and events. The “Showplace of the Nation” has also hosted the top political figures in the world including events for: President Clinton’s 50th Birthday, a DNC fundraising event for Al Gore and Time Magazine’s 75th anniversary, in which leaders from around the world attended.

Madison Square Garden and The Theater at Madison Square Garden has played host to the Grammy Awards, The Concert for New York City, Daytime Emmy Awards, Essence Awards, and will host in the summer of 2004 the Republican National Convention for the first time in history. 


World Premieres

Radio City Music Hall has premiered over 700 films since the King Kong world-premiere in 1933.  More recently the Music Hall has been host to the premieres of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban, Ice Age, Disney's 102 Dalmatians and HBO’s television series The Sopranos

Madison Square Garden is best known for the premiere of Godzilla.  The Theater at Madison Square Garden recently hosted the “live” finale of CBS’s hit reality show “Survivor: All Stars”  in May, 2004.

Sports Spectaculars

When it comes to sports spectaculars, Radio City Entertainment is a leading producer and presenter. The company has produced a total of six Super Bowl Halftime shows, including two of the highest-rated Super Bowl Halftime shows ever-Super Bowl XXVII with Michael Jackson in 1993 and Super Bowl XXX with Diana Ross in 1996. 

In January, 1999, Radio City Entertainment teamed up with HBO to present the  legendary Roy Jones Jr. boxing match at Radio City Music Hall.  The summer of 2004 marks the historic debut of women’s basketball at Radio City Music Hall, when the New York Liberty take the stage in a historic first ever basketball game on the Great Stage.
